The Sphinx unleashes its secrets to Africa at Luxor African Film Festival

Luxor African Film Festival has released the official poster for its 7th edition, which will be held between 16 and 22 March 2018.

With the Sphinx featured at its heart, symbolizing the Ancient Egyptian civilization as part of the broader African civilization, unleashing a cinematic beam out of its eyes, within it flies the birds of communication with the mother continent.

The poster was designed by the young director and artist Ahmed Seyam, who has designed many of the festival’s previous posters, starting with the 3rd edition one which featured the African continent merging with the face of the great African revolutionary, Nelson Mandela.

Seyam, the poster’s designer has stated that he attempted to introduce a new idea and a fresh color palette that have never been used in the previous editions, which featured really unique poster designs. He utilized brighter and more cheerful colors that also connect the Ancient Egyptian civilization to its deep maternal roots within the Dark Continent of Africa, with its vast green savannas , in a visual representation of the festival’s 7th edition slogan, “Cinema for a Better Tomorrow”.
